Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer as an embodiment coach and esthetician?

We can heal ourselves by being in our bodies and creating positive, nourishing experiences. I offer facials, pedicures, manicures, face waxing/brow shaping and coaching.

Each service is approached from a whole bodied perspective and is designed to help you feel good about yourself inside and out so you will gain confidence and vitality, and live a more beautiful life.

How can embodiment coaching help me feel more confident and comfortable in my own skin?

By you gaining a deeper understanding of yourself (and discovering your true self) and accessing your inner wisdom.

Somatic or embodiment/body-mind coaching engages with all the body (not just your conceptual awareness) and is a mindful, creative and practical process.

As you gain insight and clarity, you make decisions and take actions which are productive and right for you.

The more in touch you are with your authentic self and your body, the more confident and happy you feel in every area of your life. Also, by addressing outside concerns about your skin and body, we take care of hidden fears which are preventing you from engaging in life the way you might like.

What is the importance of self-care in your approach as an embodiment coach and esthetician?

Years of experience as an esthetician and in my work as a coach have shown me that when people are NOT taking care of themselves, their mental health takes a further nose dive. They lose confidence and motivation, and take on exhaustion, cynicism, and depression.

This is no way to live a beautiful life. Self-care gives space for healing, clarity, connection and the energy to be fully in your life.

Self- care takes many forms. It is taking care of the outside of your body, it is having fun, it is taking time off work, it is cultivating gratitude, healthy relationships, and ensuring there are nourishing practices happening each and every day.

A service with me is one big step, and then if I am doing esthetics will make home care recommendations for your skin and body. If I am coaching you, together we strategize and create a self-care plan which is personal and meaningful.

How do you incorporate elements of beauty and creativity into your coaching and bodycare services?

Your routine and choices are personal to you. Lifestyle will affect how we take care of you. Each esthetic service is customized for you. While there are standard protocols, variations are automatically incorporated each time I see you.

In coaching, we trust in the process and give plenty of space for ideas to emerge. As ideas are emerging, we set the stage for their full exploration to take place. By the by the end of a session you will have 'painted a picture' of your next steps and committed to a way of integrating your plan into your life.

The environment for services is light, comfortable and always adjusted to suit your needs. The spaces we inhabit and the experiences we have together should feel beautiful and uplifting in every way.

What can I expect during a coaching session or skincare treatment with you?

Initially, we always do a thorough intake as to what you needs, goals, lifestyle, and desires are- whether for a treatment or coaching session. It's especially important to get permission to carry out a treatment and session and what would feel good to you.

Each subsequent treatment, I check in again as to what is needed and how I would like to carry out the service.

In a coaching session, we check in at the start as to goals and outcomes before proceeding and we check in again at the end to see how it was.

Follow up might consist of home care recommendations, worksheets, and notes from our conversation.

How do you foster feelings of connection and community within your practice?

Clients can gain access to my monthly newsletters, blog, and interviews with other embodiment practitioners to support their desires for a more embodied life.

Occasional events will be scheduled where people can gather, connect and grow.

Each client is held in the highest esteem, and is regarded with respect and appreciation. The more we can foster connection to each other, the better community members we become.

All ages, genders, ethnicities, and sexual orientations are welcomed.

Can embodiment coaching and body care treatments help me overcome feelings of overwhelm and stress?

Yes! Every time you take a moment to intentionally care for yourself and connect with your experience you release stress and overwhelm. Our bodies desire recognition. A body care service tells the rest of you that you matter.

By focusing on what is good and adopting special 'easy does it' time, the body can resource itself. This enables you to more easily handle and process very real stress and fosters balance and harmony in your body's ecosystem.

We don't ignore the stress either. We look at it and what it might be saying to us. Then we can see what we need to feel better and together find ways to meet those needs.

How do you tailor your services to meet the unique needs and goals of each client?

I get to know you. I do this via simple questionnaires and conversations.

We can especially connect around areas of life which bring you joy, and have given you your unique experiences and perspectives.

When designing a treatment your lifestyle, work needs, and goals are all considered. When entering into a coaching session, we decide together how we will work and what kind of coaching is going to suit your needs the best.

What are some practical tips for integrating self-care practices into my daily routine?

Schedule, schedule, schedule! Put yourself on your calendar on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. If you aren't on there, sit down right now and get yourself into your calendar. I recommend including simple, non-addictive, wholesome pleasures in every part of your life as often as possible!

Simple, non-addictive, wholesome pleasures and self-care need not be a big time commitment. Your daily self-care could be taking 5 minutes between work and home to get centred and orientate. It could also be a simple skin care routine at the start of your day using products which feel lovely to you.

Don't know what your personal simple, non-addictive, wholesome pleasures are? Make a list! What feels good to you? Sunsets, fresh air, petting your cat, getting a treatment, connecting with a friend...it can be anything!
