Resourcing is the most powerful way to connect to your body and feel better. There are multiple, easy ways to resource yourself.
Resourcing is a relatively new term for most people, so I will give you a definition of what it is…
Resourcing is a way to bank your energy and renew yourself daily. It is especially useful if you are burned out or stressed out. Resourcing is a connection between what inspires, pleases and nourishes a person, and ‘resourcers’ are always simple, non-addictive and wholesome pleasures.
The act of resourcing is intentional but also easy and enjoyable. Finally, we can resource ourselves, or we can ask for the support of others (like with me- a body-oriented coach)
I like to have a list of ways I can resource myself. That way, I don’t need to use energy thinking of something that would help me feel better.
Here are the categories you can use to make a personal list:
Sight
Sound
Touch
Taste
Smell
Movement
Proprioception (where you are in space)
With those categories, the list of things you enjoy can be endless. Plus, ensure there are numerous ways to include connection with others and connection to nature because these are the MOST resourcing.
Self-care falls into many of these categories. It’s one of the reasons I love to give (and receive!) facials, manicures and pedicures. Offering a service with intention, presence, and purpose makes every moment more meaningful for the client. It's how I approach my work as an esthetician and coach. An experience becomes elevated, which is even more resourcing.
Go ahead and make your resourcing list…It will make you even better in every other area of your life.
