The Gift of Belonging to Your Own Soul

Updated: Apr 18

Know your body so it can share with you what it knows

Burnout happens from not stopping to check in with the soma.

When the weird dreams, heavy energy and discomfort come, it’s a habit of mine to attribute the cause to something outside of me. Blaming my husband for example.

How many times must I get myself in a corner before I understand? When instead, I could just slow down a tiny bit and check in with my body before I say YES.

‘Does this feel good for me?’

When I do this- I get what I call ‘the clunk’. This is my body’s way of letting me know what is up and what isn’t. No clunk, no go.

When I experience the clunk, then it’s as if I belong to myself again. As if I have come home and it’s the most respectful, loving place to be. In this place of belonging, it’s impossible to burn out.

Why?

In belonging to ourselves, it’s easy to know our limits. Then, it’s also easy to be our best and enter into a deeper, more profound way of living.

We will only burnout when we are not in alignment with belonging to our own soul.
